Show proof that the value of home values will drop, that police and fire will be overstressed, and that immigrants will be "shipped in" to fill jobs at a commercial casino. Because for every statistic that you pull from Ledyard and the surrounding area, I can give twenty examples where those concerns have not materialized.
There are NO proven facts that casinos alone lower property values. It is a town by town issue with many more factors than a casino in the area. Creating jobs is a good thing in this economy.These are not ?jobs nobody wants". Dealers, cocktail waitresses, hotel administrators, marketing people, valets, front desk help, security, maintenance, housekeepers, bartenders, restaurant managers, chefs and others are not all "jobs nobody wants". Local restaurants, gas stations, convenience stores, grocery stores, will all see increased business due to the creation of more jobs in the area and if you don't think so, you're wrong and I can prove it with dozens of first hand accounts for every one Ledyard you come up with.
