Photos released on Tuesday showed hundreds of people milling on the ship's outside decks, and officials said passengers would sleep there as well instead of in their unlit cabins.
The Costa Allegra has 636 passengers and 413 crew members on board: Among them are 212 Italian, 31 British and eight U.S. passengers. Four of the passengers are children ages 3 or younger.
The ship lost power Monday after a fire in its generator room, which knocked out power to the ship's engines as well as to its lights and air conditioning.
Cruise ship officials had said that they would be taking the stranded travelers by Wednesday to Desroches, a small, exclusive coral-lined island in the Seychelles. However, they later said Tuesday that they would instead bring them to the main Seychelles island of Mahe.
The cruise ship company said the change was done for safety and logistical reasons, and that the Allegra would reach Mahe early Thursday. Two tug boats have joined a French fishing vessel to tow the cruise ship.
The fire aboard the Costa Allegra comes only six weeks after one of its sister ships, the Costa Concordia, hit a reef and capsized off Italy, killing 25 people and leaving seven missing and presumed dead.
No one was injured in the fire Monday, but the blaze set the cruiseliner adrift at sea in a region where Somali pirates prey on ships.
Both ships are operated by Costa Crociere SpA, which is owned by the Florida-based Carnival Corp.
However, company officials rushed to play down concerns.
The Costa Allegra is adrift "and being pushed by the current. It is stable and upright," Giorgio Moretti, the director of nautical operations for Costa Crociere SpA, told reporters in a conference call late Monday from company headquarters in Genoa, Italy.
"It's a big ship and to tow it, to move it across the waters, is a heavy task," said Seychelles presidential spokeswoman Srdjana Janosevic. She said that everything is calm on board the cruise ship and that no one is hurt.
Italian Coast Guard officials said emergency generators were keeping the ship's control room illuminated and communications equipment such as radios running.
The Allegra, whose Italian name means "merry," or "happy," had left northern Madagascar, off Africa's southeast coast, on Saturday and was cruising toward Port Victoria when the fire erupted. Costa said the Allegra had been due in Port Victoria on Tuesday.

Moretti said 15 Costa engineers, technicians and other officials were flying to Mahe in hope of reaching the Allegra by air to repair its generators.

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) ? The Oracle of Omaha earned his nickname ? and more than a few billion dollars ? by spotting investments that others overlooked, but Warren Buffett makes mistakes.
No, really, he does.
Just pick through Buffett's annual letters to shareholders of his conglomerate, Berkshire Hathaway. His pronouncements are eagerly anticipated by investors around the world. But sometimes even the Oracle gets it wrong.
By the second page of this year's letter, released Saturday, Buffett was borrowing a tennis term to take credit for "a major unforced error" he'd made on some Texas utility bonds.
Of course, Buffett's shareholder letters are filled with a lot more good decisions than bad ones. His $44 billion fortune attests to that. But the blunders are instructive. Or at least remind us that he's human.
The plainspoken, no-nonsense investor tends to be a good sport about his mistakes. Here are some of the lowlights.
HOUSING HOROSCOPE
The blunder: Buffett predicted in last year's letter that the U.S. housing recovery would begin within the next year and help fuel economic growth.
The explanation: Buffett doesn't mince words and says he was "dead wrong" about this one. But he says basic biology makes it unavoidable that the country will need more houses.
The quip: "People may postpone hitching up during uncertain times, but eventually hormones take over. And while 'doubling up' may be the initial reaction of some during a recession, living with in-laws can quickly lose its allure."
ENERGY ERROR
The blunder: Buffett spent about $2 billion buying bonds offered by Texas utility Energy Future Holdings. But those bonds are now worth about $878 million, and he conceded Saturday that even that could be wiped out.
The explanation: Buffett comes right out and admits misjudging the company's prospects and the likelihood that natural gas prices would remain depressed.
The quip: "However things turn out, I totally miscalculated the gain/loss probabilities when I purchased the bonds. In tennis parlance, this was a major unforced error by your chairman."
ACQUISITION ANGST
The blunder: Some of the companies Berkshire Hathaway has bought don't add much to the company's bottom line. Buffett didn't single out the laggards in Berkshire's manufacturing, service and retail unit, but he acknowledged that a few produce poor returns.
The explanation: Buffett says he misjudged some of these businesses before Berkshire bought them partly because he didn't always listen to curmudgeonly Vice Chairman Charlie Munger.
The quip: "I try to look out 10 or 20 years when making an acquisition, but sometimes my eyesight has been poor. Charlie's has been better; he voted 'no' more than 'present' on several of my errant purchases."
OIL OOPS
The blunder: In 2008, Buffett more than quadrupled Berkshire's stake in ConocoPhillips when oil and gas prices were near their peak. It cost the company several billion dollars.
The explanation: Buffett said he didn't anticipate the dramatic fall in energy prices that happened later in 2008.
The quip: "During 2008 I did some dumb things in investments. I made at least one major mistake of commission and several lesser ones that also hurt."
TEXTILE TROUBLE
The blunder: Buffett has said that buying Berkshire Hathaway itself may have been his worst investment decision. It was a struggling New England textile mill when Buffett bought into it in the 1960s. He kept the mill running for 20 years before shutting it down.
The explanation: Buffett didn't recognize immediately that the textile business was doomed to continue losing money.
The quip: "The dumbest thing I could have done was to pursue 'opportunities' to improve and expand the existing textile operation ? so for years that's exactly what I did," he said last year. "And then, in a final burst of brilliance, I went out and bought another textile company. Aaaaaaargh! Eventually I came to my senses, heading first into insurance and then into other industries."

My favourite. All hail Erdem. A killer collection yet again. I love the interesting mix of fabrics with black lace over tweed and leather. A little fetish like with the edgy fabrics but still remaining feminine with the sophisticated cutting, cinched waits, tight pencil skirts and capped sleeves. The fabrics are literally mixed up (see look no 4 from the left) with lace and florals combined but they all come together wonderfully. In love with the second look, black lace over the bright white trousers and and high neck silk no sleeves blouse cinched at the waist and balloons at the waist. Perfection. What is great about Erdem is it has its own style, a signature and its so recognisable. Erdem stays?true?to what it does best. Why change it up ?when you do what you do best to perfection?

I?ve recently become a fan of PPQ. I find the collections very unique and different. Especially this collection. There is a vintage feel to the collections with the high waisted high leg shorts, the off the shoulder sleeves, chiffon bow scarves tied at the side neck, side sweeped wavy hair and red lips, there is a a bit drama to this collection.?There is also something that looks a little Panotmime and costume like from the black/white tights making it fun and youthful as well. I think its wonderful.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A 28-minute political ad offers a candidate something sound bites can never capture - a chance to explore a subject in depth.
But in the case of Newt Gingrich's unusual extended commercial on American energy policy, it just means more time for mistakes.
In the ad, Gingrich offers a pain-free prescription for cheap energy that betrays a misunderstanding of how oil markets work, blames President Barack Obama for suppressing development that is actually on the rise, criticizes a dependence on Iranian oil that doesn't exist and misstates the facts behind the deaths of migratory birds in oil waste pits in North Dakota.
He also pledges to make the country more energy independent, but calls for scrapping fuel economy standards - one of the best ways to curb the U.S. appetite for oil and decrease foreign imports.
Here are some of Gingrich's claims and how they compare with the facts:
----
GINGRICH: "Finally, what if that big new idea meant that you personally were better off because you are buying gasoline for $2.50 a gallon, not for $3.89 or $4, or what some people project by the summer could be $5 or more?"
THE FACTS: Presidents often get blamed for rising gasoline prices but can't do much about them because the price is set by global markets.
Gas prices follow oil prices, and oil prices have been rising. The price of the foreign oil that's imported by most U.S. refineries and turned into gasoline and other fuels has risen 11 percent so far this year, to about $119 a barrel, because of tensions with Iran, a cold snap in Europe and rising demand from developing nations. Oil produced in the U.S. and used by refineries in the middle of the country to produce gasoline is up 4 percent to about $103 a barrel, 19 percent higher than a year earlier. No presidential "big idea" can reverse those forces.

GINGRICH: "Under President Obama, because he is so anti-American energy, we actually had a 40 percent reduction in the development of oil offshore, and we have had a 40 percent reduction in the development of oil on federal lands."
THE FACTS: Gingrich bases this statement on a figure published by the Energy Information Administration that has since been retracted because it was incorrect. The figure left out an entire subset of production. In addition, the erroneous number represented both oil and gas production on public lands, while Gingrich cites only oil.
For offshore, the energy information agency data show production has surged in the first two years of the Obama administration after being on a downward trend since 2003. In 2008, prior to Obama taking office, Gulf oil production hits its lowest level in a decade.
A recent report from the agency predicts that in the short term, oil production in the Gulf of Mexico, where Obama placed a moratorium on new deep-water exploratory drilling after the massive BP oil spill, will show an overall decline for this year before rebounding.

GINGRICH: "In North Dakota, where the developments are on private land so the liberals have not been able to stop them, the Obama U.S. attorney for North Dakota filed a lawsuit because eight migratory birds had been found dead near oil fields."
THE FACTS: In August 2011, U.S. Attorney Timothy Q. Purdon - an Obama appointee and top Democratic activist - charged seven oil companies with killing 28 migratory birds in violation of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Some of the birds were not found "near oil fields" as Gingrich claims, but were discovered drenched in oil in waste pits, which birds and waterfowl land in after mistaking them for ponds. In North Dakota, such waste pits have multiplied in the state's drilling boom.
Prosecutors have dismissed charges against one company, and a federal judge in September dismissed charges and rejected plea agreements for the other six firms. The U.S. attorney plans an appeal.
All seven companies had previously been fined for violating the same law, and some of those enforcement cases had been filed under previous administrations. Bird deaths from oil pits can be avoided by simply covering the open tanks with netting, federal inspectors say.
The Justice Department has also brought criminal proceedings against oil companies for breaking the law prior to Obama's tenure.

GINGRICH: "It comes down to a simple idea: What if we had a program that enabled the American people to develop so much new energy that we were, in fact, no longer reliant on Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran."
THE FACTS: The U.S. doesn't import any oil from Iran. Together, Saudi Arabia and Iraq accounted for about 13 percent of all U.S. imports in 2010, according to the EIA. To replace what the U.S. is importing from those two countries with drilling alone would require domestic oil production to grow by 25 percent. The EIA predicts domestic production will peak in 2020, but even that won't be enough to cover what is imported today from those two countries. Eliminating dependence on imports would require both more domestic production and reduced demand. U.S. oil imports dropped below 50 percent in 2010, thanks in large part to a lackluster economy, more efficient cars and the blending of ethanol into gasoline.

GINGRICH: "Now I want you to think about this: Thousands of migratory birds are killed every year by wind turbines. But wind turbines are one of President Barack Obama's favorite alternative fuels, so they are green. Therefore, although they kill birds they are green so they are good even though what they are doing may not be good."
THE FACTS: Gingrich appears to be using solid science here, and sounds much like bird conservation groups with this claim. The American Bird Conservancy has called the Fish and Wildlife Service's failure to go after bird deaths from wind turbines a "double standard." In 2008, a scientist with the service estimated that wind farms were killing 440,000 birds per year. Now there are even more wind turbines. The agency estimates that 500,000 to 1 million birds die annually in oil field pits and at waste facilities. Justice Department records show that while charges have been brought under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act for birds killed by power lines, oil field waste pits and inaccurate pesticide applications by farmers, bird deaths by wind farms have so far escaped prosecution. So, too, have much larger sources of bird deaths such as automobile strikes, cat attacks and birds colliding with buildings, which could also be prosecuted under the law but aren't.

GINGRICH: "The Environmental Protection Agency under President Obama has a proposal for a brand-new regulation that would, on average, raise the cost of gasoline another 25 cents."
THE FACTS: Gingrich is referring to a proposal to lower the sulfur content of gasoline, but the EPA has yet to come out with any such regulation. Gingrich gets his cost increase figure from a July 2011 study commissioned by the American Petroleum Institute, a lobbying group for the oil industry. The report concluded that gas prices could rise 12 to 25 cents, a range six senators cited in a letter to the EPA in January. Gingrich picks the high end of the range, which assumes the most stringent requirements. EPA officials say that even the low projection assumes actions that the agency has no plans of pursuing.

I've realized this weekend that one of the many reasons for my indifference and disillusionment is because I've been creating my own religion.
