Cheniere Energy, Inc. announced that it has agreed to sell 8,700,000 shares of its common stock in an underwritten public offering under an effective shelf registration statement.
The underwriter will have an option to purchase up to an additional 1,300,000 shares from Cheniere to cover any over-allotments.
The offering is expected to close and settle on June 6, 2011.
The Company intends to use the net proceeds from the offering for general corporate purposes.
